RFK Jr. in cash grab to market MAHA vitamins, crypto, T-shirts

Robert Kennedy Jr. Trademarks ‘Make America Healthy Again’

Robert Kennedy Jr. has officially registered the trademark “Make America Healthy Again” (MAHA) as part of a strategy to market a variety of products, including supplements, apparel, and cryptocurrency, according to available public records. RFK Jr., who is currently facing intense scrutiny during Senate hearings as Donald Trump’s nominee for the position of Secretary of Health and Human Services, registered the MAHA branding in December 2024. His financial disclosures reveal that he received $100,000 in licensing fees from a business agreement with a friend, allowing the use of MAHA branding on various merchandise.

Financial Gains Amid Controversy

The revenue from these licensing fees contributes to the significant $11.6 million earnings that the vaccine skeptic has amassed over the past two years. This income is supplemented by funds from legal battles against pharmaceutical companies and lucrative book deals that promote his alternative views on health and medicine. On December 10, RFK Jr. transferred complete ownership of the MAHA trademark to MAHA Worldwide LLC, a holding company established in Wyoming just days prior. Such divestment is a common practice among political appointees to prevent potential conflicts of interest.

MAHA Merchandise and Political Ties

The official online store for RFK Jr. currently offers a range of merchandise, including MAHA-branded hats and T-shirts priced at $35, dog bowls for $40, and mugs for $17. MAHA Worldwide is linked to Del Bigtree, a prominent anti-vaccine advocate and producer, who co-hosted the MAHA Inaugural Ball in Washington, D.C., earlier this month. This event was sponsored by MAHA Action, a lobbying organization co-founded by Bigtree and RFK Jr., which had initiated a petition in December supporting Kennedy’s nomination for the health secretary role. However, both the petition and the organization’s website have since been taken down.

Future Ventures and Public Appearances

Robert Kennedy Jr. aims to generate revenue through the sale of MAHA merchandise, despite having transferred the trademark to an associate just before his Senate confirmation hearings. Additionally, he has filed for a trademark to produce MAHA-branded dog bowls, leashes, and pet beds. The MAHA Inaugural Ball, held on January 20 to celebrate President Trump’s second inauguration, featured a surprise performance by Grammy Award-winning singer Jewel, who later expressed regret for her participation, acknowledging that some of her fans felt let down by her involvement. RFK Jr.’s wife, Cheryl Hines, alongside other notable figures such as comedian Russell Brand and Daphne Oz, was in attendance at the event.

Diverse Product Range in Trademark Application

Beyond health supplements and vitamins, the trademark application also encompasses a broad array of educational materials. This includes textbooks, online courses, websites that offer health assessments, and even MAHA-branded credit cards, as indicated by public documents. An inquiry sent to MAHA Action regarding these developments has yet to receive a response.
